Saying she is not well, that she has had "a great deal of bother" since she last saw him, wishing Mapleson could come and see her now--"of course without Dottie!!!", asking him "to answer a few lines for me to that fool of a woman who dares (just like the others) dictate me what to do or say," saying "what a misfortune" that Christine Nilsson has been engaged for America--"What did M. do that for she does not draw?"--, etc.
